  • Friday, 5/19: Duty

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • The NHS end of year trip will depart campus at 16:00 on Monday 22nd May and head to Gainesville for dinner. Please meet the bus at the top of the steps to Turner Hall. We plan to return to campus by 21:00. NHS members have been e-mailed information by the NHS secretary, Helen Peng, and should respond to her to RSVP.

  • The bookstore will be closed on graduation day. All seniors will need to return books for credit by Friday, May 26th by 2:00 PM. Any books returned after 2:00 PM on Friday will not be issued any credit.

  • The Finance Office will be open graduation day immediately after the graduation ceremony until 2:00 PM.

  • Reminder to International Seniors - You must bring your transfer form to me ASAP so that we can transfer your SEVIS record to your college.  If you have any questions, please come see Mrs. Bennett.  Thank you to all who have already completed the process.  

 

  • TODAY, Thursday, May 18th:

    • All Cadets will report to a lunch formation at 12:45 pm on the Front Roadway!  

    • Faculty & Staff do not have an assigned lunch table today.  

    • Ms. Cole and Mrs. Bennett signing International Underclassmen I-20’s at lunch.  

    • Day 3 Final Field Day Events during afternoon sports/intramural time.  All Intramural Supervisors and Coaches are to be sure to report to Field Day from 4-5 pm for their afternoon duty!

    • End of Year Celebration Picnic in the Turner Dining Hall at 6:30 pm

 

  • Friday, May 19th:

  • Parade Practice for all cadets @ 1:30 pm.  All Freshmen report to Crow Hall Basement at 1:25 pm on Friday to pick up flags.  This is mandatory.

  • AP Environmental Trip (Make-Up Date) leaving at 9:30 (adjusted time) and returning by 1pm.

  • Senior End of Year Celebration Dance @ 6:00 pm

 

  • Saturday, May 20th:

    • Strawberry Festival-full details below

    • Alumni Lacrosse Game @ 10:00 am

    • On Saturday, Corban Ruch, Jeffrey Collins, Edmund Loolo and Christian Lesko will be representing R-MA at the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association - please wish them luck when you see them. Departure time is 6:00 am.  Event begins at 9:00 am at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond.  

 

ONGOING

  • The NHS is taking orders for exam goody bags. Please send any orders to slatham@rma.edu with the student name, upper or middle school, and a brief message. The goody bags cost $27. Please include a message of up to 20 words. The charges will be made directly from student accounts.  (Detailed letter is below)

 

I have combined the calendar items and exam week schedules together so as to list all events I am aware of in one place:

 

Senior Final Week/Exam Schedule

The exam times for 5/22 through 5/24 are for 12th, PGs, & FS only.  

Underclassmen follow Class Rotation 5 the week of May 22nd.

Underclassmen (9, 10, & 11) will test on Monday, May 29th through Thursday, June 1st and schedule is below.  

 

  • All morning exams meet from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

  • All afternoon exams during Senior Week meet from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm.

  • Students must remain in the exam for at least 1.5 hours before asking to be released.  

  • Students may be exempted from the semester exam if they earned an A for Quarters 1-3, 1st Sem and currently have an A average at this time.  

  • Seniors/PGs/FSs are permitted to stay in the dorm if they do not have an exam.  Please be sure you do not have an exam.  

 

  1. Faculty of Seniors, PGs and FS will need to bring all exams to their Department Chair by Friday, May 19th at 2:00 pm.  Exceptions are: Mr. Sloan will be responsible for his own and Mr. Koch will give his to Mr. Barbour.  

  2. If you have an exam for a senior in a class that is not listed below (ex. an elective class), please be sure to bring the exam to Mr. Barbour by the Friday deadline as well and it will be worked out with the student on a time.  

 

Monday, May 22nd: Uniform is Activity for Seniors, PGs, & FS.  Duty for Underclassmen

  • Breakfast is normal time on Monday through Thursday

  • 8:00 am: Awards Ceremony #2 in Boggs Chapel for all cadets

  • Underclassmen Class Schedule: 5, 6, 7, 1, Lunch, 2, 3, 4

  • *9:00 am - 11:00 am: Morning Exam for 12th, FSs, and PGs - English in Turner Dining Hall proctored by Mr. Sloan and Col. Quattrone

  • 12: 10 pm: Lunch for all

  • *1:30 pm - 3:30 pm: Afternoon Exam for 12th, FSs, and PGs - Mathematics in Turner Dining Hall proctored by Mr. Barr and Ms. Self

  • 4:00 pm - Intramurals/APSH/SIP for All Cadets

  • 5:00 pm: NHS Dinner Trip

 

Tuesday, May 23rd: Uniform is Activity for Seniors, PGs, & FS.  Blazer for Underclassmen  

  • 8:00 am: Final Chapel Service in Boggs Chapel

  • Underclassmen Class Schedule: 5, 6, 7, 1, Lunch, 2, 3, 4

  • *9:00 am - 11:00 am: Morning Exam for 12th, FSs, and PGs: Social Studies in Turner Dining Hall proctored by Mr. Barbour and Col. Quattrone

  • 12:10 pm: Lunch for all

  • *1:30 pm - 3:30 pm: Afternoon Exam for 12th, FSs, and PGs -Science in Turner Dining Hall proctored by Mrs. Lewallen and Mrs. Bement

  • 3:35 pm: Parade Practice for all Cadets (NO Tutorial/APSH/SIP/INTRAMURALS)

 

Wed, May 24th: Uniform is Activity for Seniors, PGs, & FS during Day & Duty for Underclassmen

  • Underclassmen: (Block Day) 5, 6, 7, Lunch, 1

  • *9:00 am - 11:00 am: Morning Exam for 12th, FSs, and PGs- Foreign Language in Crow B-4 proctored by Mr. Latham

  • 12:45 pm: Lunch

  • *1:30 pm - 3:30 pm: Make-Up Exam for 12th, FSs, and PGs:  Proctored by Mr. Barbour in Stan Fulton 118

  • *3:45 pm: Class of 2017 Graduation Practice

  • 4:00 pm - FINAL Intramurals/APSH/SIP for Underclassmen

 

Thursday, May 25th: Uniform is Activity for Seniors, PGs, & FS during the day & Duty for Underclassmen.  **Service Dress for Athletic Banquet and Awards Ceremony **

  • Underclassmen: (Block Day) 2, 3, 4, Lunch, Parade Practice 8:00 am - 12:40 pm

  • 10:15 am all Seniors/PGs/FSs report to the front steps of the gym in Service Dress for their Senior Picture.  This is Mandatory!

  • *11:00 am Mandatory Graduation Practice for all Seniors, PGs, and FSs.

  • 12:45 pm: Lunch

  • *1:30 pm: Parade Practice for ALL CADETS - Front Roadway

  • 4:00 pm: Athletic Banquet @ 4:00 pm in Turner Dining Hall by Invitation only

  • 7:00 pm: Awards Ceremony in Boggs Chapel for all

 

Friday, May 26th: NO CLASSES: Uniform is Service Dress for morning and add Parade Gear for the Final Parade

  • NO CLASSES

  • 9:15 am: Seniors report to area in front of the chapel. (All Day Seniors sign in by 8:45 am)

  • 9:30 am - 10:30 am: Baccalaureate Service in Boggs Chapel

  • 11:30 am: Class of 2017 Final Luncheon

  • 1:00 pm: All Day Underclassmen must be signed in

  • 1:40 pm: Formation for All Cadets on Front Roadway

  • 2:00 pm: Class of 2017 Final Parade @ Riddick Field (Cadets will form up on Front Roadway)

 

Saturday, May 27th: Uniform for Graduation is Service

  • 7:15 am: Seniors Wake-up

  • 8:00 am: Breakfast

  • Day Seniors must sign in by 8:00 am

  • 9:00 am: Seniors report to sidewalk across from gym for inspection.  (Service Dress)

  • 10:00 am: Graduation in Melton Gymnasium @ 10:00 am and doors open at 8:00 am

 

Underclassmen Final Week/Exam Schedule

(Please note that afternoon exams begin at 1:00 pm)

 

  • All morning exams meet from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

  • Day students need to sign in no later than 8:45 am

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Exam 3 (Period 5 class)

  • 11:45 am - 12:30 pm: Lunch

  • 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Exam 4 (Period 4 class)

 

Wednesday, 5/31: Uniform is Activity

  • 8:00 am: Breakfast

  • Day students need to sign in no later than 8:45 am

  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am: Exam 5 (Period 3 class)
