ATHELETIC RESULTS

Volleyball Recap

The Lady Jackets hosted the Ladies from M.V.C.A. on Monday. In the first set, Ameera Anderson-Dade and Chloe Browning are the only Lady Jackets who served points for our team. We struggled with our serving and fell in the first set 25-11. In the second set, we came on strong. It was a tight game all the way through with our Lady Jackets pulling off the win with a score of 25-21. We had a strong showing on serves from Sarah Starling serving 6 points with three of them being aces. Peyton Kaufman added three points, along with Elianne Gihozo and Ameera Anderson-Dade both serving one point. In the third set, the volleys back and forth between both teams was amazing to watch. Ameera Anderson-Dade led her team with two serving points, Chloe Browning added an ace and Peyton Kaufman added a point. The Lady Jackets fell in the third set 15-9 but their teamwork on offense and defense is improving. We played a fourth set so that some of the younger girls could get some floor time and we had a great showing from Sarah Starling as she led with 6 points with two being aces. Jorina Vamboi had an amazing showing and served up three points for our team. Peyton Kaufman also added two points with one being an ace. We ended up winning the fourth set 25-15. We are so proud of the progress the girls are making. We play our next game at home on Wednesday, September 27th against Wakefield Country Day School.

Soccer Recap

Our middle school soccer team went head-to-head last night against Rappahannock County Public Schools. The game got off to a great start with Cecelia Paredes scoring the first goal of the night, putting the Jackets up 1-0. Nnamdi Odom followed up with two more unassisted goals, giving the Jackets a 3-0 lead at the half. After half-time, both teams were evenly matched and RCPS responded quickly with two goals. The nail-biter continued until the whistle blew ending the game. Jackets won 3-2.
